If I had a nickel...

10/20/2023

... for every person who shared an invention with me at a cocktail party, I'd have a bunch of nickels. Being an IP attorney is like being a literary agent: everyone has at least one story, or invention, in them, and it's exciting to meet someone who might be able to bring it into the world. I love these stories. I went into this business not because I like emails and office action responses, but because I believe in solutions, clever improvements, the next iteration that opens the door to a whole new paradigm in medicine, technology, and business. So what makes people who are full of ideas reluctant to reach out to a patent lawyer? Money. Uncertainty. Humility. Time. Fear... that their idea is just a dime a dozen or old news. Fear... that their big, beautiful invention has already been done. None of these are reasons to postpone reaching out to a patent attorney after you've gone home from the party and are kept awake by a dream deferred. I'd love to hear from you and guide you in your next steps.
